I feel the exact same way I’ve been trying to write a story, and I’ve already finished brainstorming, but I keep deviating and end up writing another piece. I’ve got so many story drafts and I doubt I’d ever complete any of them

I get that now and then. It helps me to just sit down and write a sort-of to-do list of all my ideas and then go back and work through it. Then other times I have no ideas at all. Take some time are act on these ideas you have. You’ll be happy you did later.

BTW I’m really loving your site. It looks awesome and it full of great content. I’ll be subscribing and adding you to my blogroll.

I have more ideas than I know what to do with when it comes to writing books, but I’ve been focusing on two ideas for the six or seven months and that’s working out a lot better for me than scribbling out every idea under the sun. It’s all about self-control and polishing things enough before pen hits paper.

@Clem: Me too. Just over the years I have learned to control myself somewhat. That and I have realised I can keep writing the whole thing in my head and come back to it later.

I used to have the problem of having way too many ideas – that’s why I have so many partial drafts. I didn’t (and still don’t) have an ounce of self control, so I’d start as soon as I had an idea and then fizzle out. I admire you!

I know how you feel. At least you have a completed novel. I have like 5 novel ideas, and finished a few short stories. Ugh, now I have new book idea. The mind is annoying at times, eh?

Oh also I was wondering how do you create the progress bar for WP?
