After writing <em>Blood Bound</em>, which turned out to be 80k, I can get a better feel as to how long these ones are. <em>Bones</em> is much more intimate a book - there's less big scenes and dramatics like with <em>Lionheart</em> and <em>Blood Bound</em>. It just feels shorter, on the lower end of the YA wordcount spectrum, which is 60-80k or so. There's some flexibility, and I am feeling that there is a definite chance that <em>Lionheart</em> and <em>Bones</em> will end up both being around 70k. Good to hear you got over that sticky point in Lionheart. Also, I'm curious. How do you decide how long your books are going to be - because clearly these are aiming to be two different lengths.
