On my LJ flist I spotted a meme that was going around, about what are the themes and motifs that show up in your writing. Since I was just discussing that with Rebekah the other day¹ it seemed like a perfect meme to do.

So, in no particular order, some of the things that recurr in my writing:

• Truth, and the realisation of it
• The importance of family
• Mirrors/reflections
• Dual identities/masks
• Mythology/fairy tales
• Self-reliance/independence
• Coming of age
• Love and the yearning for it in a practical world²

There is probably a lot more that I can think of, but those would be the main ones. What are some of yours?
