A New Means Of Motivation

I have been slacking lately, I know it. I have been spending my time reading (I’ve read 49 books so far this year) rather than writing. I need to balance things up.

A pile of books, each labeled with a certain number.

So ta-da, my new motivation. I am not allowed to read the next book until I have reached a certain word count. Now this is sure to work. :P

Wow… that’s… wow, 49 books? How long does it take you to read a book cover to cover?

Clever system though, I hope it works.

@Veronica: Depends on how focussed I am. A few hours non-stop, or that time spread out over a few nights in bed.

But the 49 is why I have been so slow to write. >_>

Me too I have been reading like whoa and haven’t stopped to write. I like the new motivation system :yays:

    Lionheart. *eyes longingly*

@Robbie: I have worked some of the kinks of Lionheart out, so it’s definitely up there. And if this plan motivates me to finish The Circled Green then I’ll definitely work on Lionheart before NaNo.

Oh, what a bright motivation system! I should have put a similar in place when I was working on my end-of-term papers… I’m definitely keeping your idea for the next semester! :P

That’s an interesting way to go about it! I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it, but it does sound like it’ll work. Good luck with it!
